\"Guy-Hand-Portrait\"Guy Hand is an award-winning photographer, videographer, writer and public radio producer with an emphasis\u00a0on food and farming. His video \u201cMaking a Meal\u201d was one of three finalists in the International Association of Culinary Professional\u2019s 2013 Digital \"Screen<\/a>Media\u00a0Awards.<\/p>\n

His \u201cFreaks of the Garden\u201d video for Boise\u2019s Peaceful Belly Farm went viral in May 2014, receiving over a half a million views on YouTube with positive comments from The New York Daily News, Salon, Huffington Post and many others. New York University food scholar Marion Nestle tweeted: \u201cBest local farm video ever.\u201d\ufffc<\/p>\n

Along with his commercial photographic and video work, Hand is the managing editor and primary photographer for Edible Idaho<\/em><\/a><\/span> magazine, one of over 75 regional \u201cEdible\u201d magazines covering the local food movement.<\/p>\n

He also has shot\u00a0video segments for a nationally-distributed PBS program\u00a0called \u201cEdible Feast.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Screen<\/a>Hand has produced award winning radio documentaries for \u201cLiving On Earth,\u201d \u201cRadio High Country News,\u201d \u201cThe Northwest News Network,\u201d \u201cVoice of America,\u201d \u201cThe Splendid Table\u201d and more. His 2002 radio program on Alaska\u2019s Tongass National Forest won the Best Radio Feature award\u00a0from\u00a0the Society of Environmental Journalists. Hand has also written for \u201cThe L.A. Times,\u201d \u201cOrion,\u201d \u201cAudubon,\u201d \u201cSierra,\u201d \u201cHigh Country News\u201d and numerous other publications and anthologies.<\/p>\n

In 2011, Hand worked on a year-long project called \u201cThe Year of Idaho Food,\u201d including a weekly NPR program called \u201cEdible Idaho\u201d and an accompanying print piece published for the Boise Weekly on food and agriculture in the state of Idaho. That series won several awards, including a regional Edward R. Murrow award.<\/p>\n
